Attempt at Nail-A-Day Challenge!

Hey Guys!

So I have been reading over people's blogs, and they are doing a challenge where you change the color or the design on your nails every day.  So, I have decided that I will attempt to participate in this challenge. I will be taking a picture of every single day of polish, and posting them either that night, or that morning.  For some of the beginning days, I don't have that specific polish, so I will post a picture of a polish of that color that I really want.

Note: For day 29, it says the design is to be inspired by the supernatural.  Quite honestly, I have no idea as to what the supernatural is, so I have changed day 29 to favorite accent nail design.  This means that on the 29th, I will do my favorite accent nail design, whether that be crackle/shatter, caviar pearls, a contrasting color, whatever you want.  I am keeping all of my different nail designs a secret until the day they are to be posted.

Here is the calendar!

So hopefully, I will be able to complete it, and, like always, I will put up a new post every day. :)

Also, I ordered some polishes off of Amazon! YAY!!!  Alright, don't judge, but I got my first OPI and first China Glaze polishes! Finally! But they actually aren't even polishes, they are just crackle/shatter polishes.  If you would like to know the colors, you will have to find out when I get them!  Also, I got a  Nibi Magnetic Polish, and I also got three brushes so I can do striping in any of the colors that I own.  I ordered a Sally Hansen bronze polish for one of the challenges, but when I went to check to see if they have been shipped, it wasn't on the list!!! So, I got another  polish that is different, it is  more like a rose gold than it is a bronze (the original one I ordered was more of a copper bronze).  So, they are to different colors, so it would be a pleasant surprise if I got both in the mail, but I highly doubt that happening.

New Nails!

Hey guys, so I changed my nails because I didn't like the way the marble came out.  I have Essie's Borrowed and Blue, and the accent nail is Sally Hansen XTreme Wear's Pacific Blue.

In Need of More Polish!

Hey Guys!  If there is anyone out there reading this, can you please recommend websites to get Butter London polishes, Deborah Lippmann polishes and Ciate polishes for cheap? When I go onto their websites, they are between $14 and $18!  It's CRAZY! I know, I know, you can easily get dupes for all of their colors, but everyone says how good quality they are, and I really want to try at least one from each company.  I have already tried the Ciate polishes, and I love them! I want to get the regular size version of them, instead of the minis.  Also, the Butter London polishes are SO unique, that I can't really find dupes for ANY of them (i.e.-Knackered)!  Why must they be so expensive? WHY????  So comment below if you know of any websites with cheap polishes.  I know if you look hard on Amazon, you can find some...

Marble Design!

Marble Design:
In this post, I will be showing you how to make do a marble design on your nails.

Materials Needed:

  • Base color polish
    • I usually use a white polish, but you can use whatever base polish color you want
  • Regular Tape
  • Cup/small bowl of room temperature water
    • *Make sure you use an old cup/bowl or something that you won't use again or something that you through away. The polish will make a ring on the side of the container and you would have to use acetone to remove it and that is not healthy or good for your body*
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Q-Tips
  • Toothpick or something with a skinny point at the end
  • Colorful polishes to make the marble designs with
How to:

  1. Apply the base color. I usually use white for my base color, but you an use whatever color you want.
  2. Let polish dry, and then get three pieces of tape.  Put one piece at the bed of your nail, one on the right side of your nail, and then one on the left of your nail.  Take the piece of tape on the left part of your finger and curve it around, so it covers your finger tip.
  3. Once all fingers are covered, open all of the polish bottles so you are easily able to move from color to color to make the rings.
  4. Take your first color and put it right above the surface of the water.  Let one drop slide off the brush and into the water, where it then disperses.  Repeat this step with all of the color until you have as many rings as you want.
  5. Take your toothpick and drag in the nail polish from the outside to the center, until you create a design to your liking.
  6. Once you like your design, place the nail into the water, and then leave it there for about 20 seconds.  Then take the q-tip and swirl it around your nail.  This picks up all the extra polish and leaves the polish on the nails alone.
  7. Take finger out of the water, and take tape of the finger carefully.  Use nail polish remover to get any polish that is on your skin, and then seal it in with a top coat, and your done!
*If you do not like the way the design came out onto your nail, you can always use nail polish to take it off and then re do it again.*

This is what my marble design looks like:
I used Essie's Borrowed and Blue as my base color.  In my marble design is used the colors:
  • Sinful Color's: Gorgeous
  • Sinful Color's: Cinderella
  • Essie's: Borrowed and Blue
  • Sally Hansens XTreme Wear's: Pacific Blue
  • Pic-A-Color's: Unknown name, but it is a metallic, blue/gray color
  • Top Coat: Jelly Belly's Crushed Pineapple (glittery top coat)

Christmas Polishes!

Ciate Caviar Manicure:

I recently received that Ciate Caviar Mini Bar set as a Christmas gift and I LOVE IT!  The polishes are of amazing quality and the pearls stay on for the estimated time.  The box includes four polishes, four bottles of the caviar pearls, a funnel and then a tray.

The Four Polishes Are:

Knickerbockerglory

Pom Pom

Fit For A Queen

Sand  Dune

The Four Bottles of Caviar Pearls Are:

Prom Queen

Jubilee

Hologram

Candyshop

How To:

  1. Apply one coat of whatever polish you desire.
  2. Then, apply a second coat to each nail, then immediately after pour the pearls onto the nail, which is resting over the tray given.
  3. Shake and wipe off the extra pearls on your finger into the tray, and pat the pearls on your nails down firmly.
  4. Once the pearls are in the place that you would like, apply a top coat ONLY TO THE VERY TIPS OF THE NAILS.
  5. Place funnel into the bottle holding the pearls for the correct colors.  Shift all pearls into one corner of the tray, and then let the pearls filter in through the funnel and into the bottle.  Then close to bottle with the cap.
  6. Allow nails to dry for 15-20 minutes, and your done!
I used Sand Dune as the base color, and then poured Hologram onto my ring finger, which is my accent nail.

I also received two Essie polishes as gifts, and one Sinful Colors polish.

The two Essie polishes are:

Borrowed and Blue

Pretty Edgy

The Sinful Colors polish is:

Gorgeous

The Borrowed and Blue polish is streaky, so I would make sure you apply at least two coats of that.  I have yet to try the color Pretty Edgy, and the Sinful Color, Gorgeous, needs at least two coats as well.
